Bursary Program Outline

The IQA Bursary Program exists to assist member NGBs and Emerging Areas with expenses that they may be unable to cover themselves, and may be used to cover costs for equipment, education, program development, and research. It is available for all NGBs and Emerging Areas, however requirements for use differ depending on membership status.

Bursaries will be dispensed on a monthly basis beginning in May 2018. Applications must be submitted by the 15th of the month prior to the month in which the bursary is requested. The bursary will be awarded on the first of the month, unless the first of the month is a tournament date for an IQA-run tournament in which case the bursary will be awarded within the first week of the month.

A bursary of 275EURwill be dispensed on the first of each month (with the above exception). Each NGB or Emerging Area may only be awarded one bursary per fiscal year. The IQA’s fiscal year goes from Sept. 1-Aug. 31. This document is therefore applicable for bursaries in May through August 2018, inclusive.

If an application is not chosen, member NGBs and Emerging Areas must re-submit the application for it to be considered in any subsequent months. If no applications are received for any given month, two bursaries will be awarded in the following month.

The IQA Bursary Program will continue throughout the next fiscal year although details (e.g. amounts awarded, frequency of awards, guidelines for submission, etc) may change or be clarified based on questions and feedback received in the 2017-2018 fiscal year.
