The International Quidditch Association (IQA) is pleased to announce that Andy Marmer will be serving as interim executive director alongside Rebecca Alley who will remain in the executive director role until August 31. Andy has been serving as a trustee since January 2017 and prior to that founded and led the Quidditch Post for nearly three years.
In addition, Betsy Lewin-Leigh has been hired as Head of Human Resources. Betsy is the Deputy Director of the Quidditch Premier League, a position she has held since August 2017 and previously served as Executive Assistant to the Director.
The International Quidditch Association would like to announce that the following volunteers have resigned from their positions. We thank all of these volunteers for their hard work, passion and dedication and wish them the best in their future endeavors:
- Nicole Hammer - Trustee
- Pauline Raes - Head of Gameplay
- Sarah-Louise Lewis - Head of Human Resources
- Marco Ziegaus - Secretary
Nicole Hammer joined the IQA in 2016 as executive assistant before assuming the role of interim executive director. In January 2017, she transitioned from that role to trustee and has served faithfully in that role since. Nicole has brought an incredible passion for quidditch and especially the IQA and has been a key contributor to the progress of the organization.
Sarah-Louise Lewis joined the IQA as Head of Human Resources earlier this year and has been a stabilizing presence across the organization. For personal reasons, Sarah-Louise is stepping down as department head, but will remain with the IQA in a to-be-determined role.
Pauline Raes joined the IQA in August 2016 as RDT Manager after serving as officials coordinator at the 2016 World Cup - a position she also held at the 2017 European Games and 2018 World Cup. Pauline transferred to Head of Gameplay in August 2017. Pauline was also a key voice in this past World Cup. Pauline has brought incredible dedication to her role with the IQA.
Marco Ziegaus joined the IQA in December 2016, as secretary and has worked diligently at that position, providing a key voice in decision-making and participating in numerous key decisions. Marco is leaving the IQA to refocus on quidditch organization at a more local level having recently been promoted to head coach of his local team and contemplating other opportunities.
Each of Sarah-Louise, Pauline and Marco will aid in the transition of their successors and we hope each of our departing volunteers consider additional ways they can be involved with the IQA in the future.
The IQA is hiring volunteers to serve in the following roles:
- Executive Director
- Membership Director
- Events Director
- IT Director
- Legal Director
- Gameplay Director
